I'd say go for the iPhone. I had an HTC Tilt first, my co-worker has a Blackjack, my brother the Mogul and my boss has a Blackberry. All are decent phones, but if you're looking to do social media stuff (or any sort of media stuff) than go for the iphone. The browser is badass, among a number of other things. I made the switch and love it. About the only pain you might have is returning a defective phone for a non-defective one (which appaulingly costs you $30).

As for utterz... what makes you enjoy utterz so much? I looked into it and such but never really got into it.
