Similar to your point about online vs offline engagement, for me the one thing I wish had been emphasized more was that there should not be such a separation between "old" and "new" or "traditional media" and "social media" or whatever. As technology progresses we have new tools. We should take the new tools and add them to our toolkit and use the right tool for the job.

Amanda, it was nice to see you last night! (Sorry we didn't get a chance to chat; I happened to be gorging on a yummy turkey sandwich when you came in. =D) Thanks for posting about the event. Mike Volpe's statement about how your message is what people are saying, not what *you* think it is, clicked with me too. I'm glad we had similar takeaways from the evening. See you at the next one!
