On #1, yes. And tragically, they passed away before we could reconnect.
Don’t leave things unsaid. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
1: Not that I can think of
2: Yes, and this year we’ll have our 13th Wedding Anniversary.
3: Yes - I’ve known him for 25 years, and we still talk most weeks, even though we live a fair way away from each other now.
4: Yes, but I’m a lousy “casual acquaintance” :-)
5: Willingness to tell me when I’m doing the wrong thing coupled with intelligence to know when I’m doing it.
Awesome Post Amanda!
1. Yes, and it is regretable.
2. I do have a best friend.
3. I have had a few best childhood friends that I totally lost touch with. The one guy, Eli, was always mistaken for my twin.
4. I think I am a great friend. People tell me I am an no one has ever said anything to the contrary.
5. I look for an honest, open person who is always going to be there to stick by my side.
I love your blog posts, friend. <3
1. Yesssssss. There are two in particular that I’d love to track down but I haven’t had any luck. :(
2. I do. She is awesome. About to finish nursing school and she will make an amazing nurse.
3. I had two — Marcie and Sharlynn. Sharlynn and I are in touch now through Facebook. :)
4. I always aim for the good. We all falter at times but I definitely try to be however my friends need me to be — even if that sometimes means doling out tough love.
5. Someone who owns his or her actions and isn’t afraid to be him- or herself. Someone not afraid to tell me like it is, even if sometimes I don’t want to hear it. Someone funny and fun.
Great post. =).
1. Yeah, and it sucks.
2. I don’t know. Not one specific person, I think. But 2-3 really close friends.
3. Well, I’m only 17, so most of my friends are “childhood friends”. That said, the one that stands out (the longest friendship I’ve had) is with someone named Grace. Having her there for me for so long, through everything, means a lot to me.
4. I’d hope so.
5. Someone I can trust and be myself with, and who trusts me. And preferably someone intelligent. =).
what a great moment of you two. Love it.
